HCLSoftware Rolls Out Domino 14.5, Strengthens Focus on Sovereign AI and Data Privacy

HCLSoftware, a recognized leader in enterprise technology, released Domino 14.5 on July 7. The update introduces new capabilities that enhance data privacy and support digital sovereignty. HCLSoftware designed this version specifically for government bodies and organizations in tightly regulated industries. These sectors require strict control over data and full compliance with legal standards.

A major highlight of the new release is Domino IQ, a sovereign AI component seamlessly integrated into the platform. This feature allows organizations to manage and operate their AI systems in-house; therefore, it ensures complete ownership of both data and models. Furthermore, and in addition to improving control, this approach supports compliance with strict global regulations—particularly the European Union’s AI Act—and, at the same time, significantly reduces reliance on foreign-based cloud solutions.

HCLSoftware Empowers Public Sector with Data Sovereignty Tools

The company emphasized that public institutions, financial services, and other privacy-sensitive sectors now have the tools to shield confidential information without compromising collaboration efficiency. “Data sovereignty goes beyond cloud infrastructure—it touches every aspect of collaboration, from emails and chats to shared files and meeting recordings,” said Richard Jefts, Executive Vice President and General Manager at HCLSoftware. “Domino+ 14.5 equips more than 200 government agencies to take full control of their digital communications and safeguard their information.”

The upgraded Domino+ suite now features robust enhancements for messaging, virtual meetings, and document exchange, all built with enterprise-grade security. These capabilities are tailored for organizations handling classified or sensitive data, ensuring their workflows remain protected and compliant.

Backing this release is a strategic collaboration with IONOS, a top-tier European cloud service provider. IONOS CEO Achim Weiss commented, “Digital sovereignty is vital to Europe’s future. We’re proud to provide the secure cloud foundation for HCLSoftware’s privacy-focused collaboration solutions.”

Domino 14.5 also brings several important certifications and technical upgrades. BSI has certified the platform for information security. It now includes advanced SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) tools to detect threats in real time and fully complies with the European Accessibility Act, ensuring all web-based features are accessible to individuals of all abilities.

With this release, HCLSoftware reaffirms its role as a reliable technology partner for governments and sensitive organizations. It offers trusted tools that prioritize control, security, and compliance in a fast-evolving digital landscape.
