The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has issued a high-risk security alert for all Apple users. The government agency warned that several Apple device are exposed to serious vulnerabilities that could let hackers break into your system.

These issues affect devices running on iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, visionOS, and tvOS. Hackers can use these flaws to:

  • Steal sensitive personal data
  • Bypass security settings
  • Gain full control of your device
  • Disrupt device performance (DoS attacks)
  • Run harmful code in the background

Affected Apple Devices and Software Versions

If your device is running on an older version of the following software, it may be at risk:

  • VisionOS: Before version 2.6
  • tvOS: Before version 18.6
  • watchOS: Before version 11.6
  • macOS: Ventura (before 13.7.7), Sonoma (before 14.7.7), Sequoia (before 15.6)
  • iPadOS: Before 17.7.9 or 18.6
  • iOS: Older than 18.6

CERT-In says these vulnerabilities can lead to unauthorized access to user data, manipulation of private information, and damage to user privacy and reputation.

What You Should Do

To stay safe, update your Apple device as soon as the latest security patch becomes available. These patches are being rolled out by Apple and will fix the reported issues.

If you don’t see the update yet, don’t worry — Apple device is working on releasing them for all users. In the meantime, avoid clicking suspicious links or downloading unknown apps.
