Nishant Pitti, the founder and chairman of EaseMyTrip, has warned Indian travellers about possible national security risks when using certain travel booking platforms. He pointed out that some companies, especially those with large Chinese ownership, might be accessing sensitive data like Indian passport details.

In a post on X, Pitti urged people to be careful and check who owns the travel platform they are using. He asked, “Before booking your travel, ask yourself— is the platform truly aligned with India, or is it mostly owned by countries that are not friendly to us?” He tagged top government bodies like the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of External Affairs, and the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Proud of the stand @rikantpitti and @EaseMyTrip have consistently taken.

Rikant Pitti, CEO and co-founder of EaseMyTrip, supported his concerns. Rikant mentioned that their company had stopped all bookings to the Maldives for over a year, in protest of strained ties between India and the Maldives.

He also highlighted how, after the terror attack in Pahalgam, EaseMyTrip was among the first to issue a travel advisory against Turkey and Azerbaijan. These countries openly supported Pakistan, so Rikant advised Indian tourists to avoid visiting them unless necessary.

Rikant emphasized that they base their decisions on Indian safety and values. “As an Indian company, we always put the nation and our travellers first,” he said.

Nishant added that it’s encouraging to see other travel companies also starting to act responsibly during critical times. “For us, this is not just a marketing line. It’s our belief— our country comes first, business comes second,” he said.

With growing India–Pakistan tensions, EaseMyTrip urges travellers to stay cautious when visiting Turkey and Azerbaijan. Many social media users back this call, asking Indians to show patriotism by avoiding holidays in these nations.
